During an interview, he revealed that he used to work hard to support his family and fulfill daily needs. He worked as a daily wage laborer and used to work as a carpenter’s apprentice to meet his needs. 

In front of many obstacles, he did not give up on his dreams and passion for cricket and eventually, he was selected for the domestic cricket team of Uttar Pradesh. He hit hard in the Ranji Trophy in the 2017-18 season for Uttar Pradesh, where he was  leading with 953 runs in 10 matches (with an average of 63.53). 

In 2018, he was selected by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), but somehow his debut was not at the mark  expected by him. He scored 120 runs in 10 matches and his struggling phase did not end. 

Despite his setbacks, he continues his hard work and practices more to improve his performance. In the 2020 IPL, he played for  Chennai Super Kings and then he improved his gaming directions under the guidance of experienced leaders such as Dhoni and Suresh Raina. With CSK, he made 33 runs in 3 matches at an average of 11.00. Along with domestic and IPL matches, he also represented India in a few matches. He made his List A debut in 2018 in India A and made an unbeaten 66 runs in his first match.

Rinku began his career in childhood, he started playing cricket at a very young age playing at the under-16 level for Uttar Pradesh. Domestic Career for Uttar Pradesh

Rinku represented Uttar Pradesh at the Under-16, Under-19, and Under-23 levels matches. He also played at the under-19 level of Central Zone. In the  List A cricket debut at the age of 16 in March 2014 for Uttar Pradesh, in which he was the top-scored player with 83 runs. After that, he made his first-class debut in the Ranji Trophy 2016 for Uttar Pradesh in November 2016. Then he gained the title of leading scorer in the group of Ranji Trophy-2018-19 for Uttar Pradesh with 803 runs in nine matches. In the last match 150 runs and ended the tournament with 953 runs in ten matches. 

India Premier League (IPL Journey) 

He was bought at auction by Kings XI Punjab in February 2017 for the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2017. Then he was bought by Kolkata Knight Rider (KKR) with Rs. 80 Lakh for IPL 2018 in January. 

In the 2021 IPL, he was due to play for Kolkata Knight Riders but was ruled out due to his knee injury and Gurkeerat singh Mann replaced him. But he was retained by KKR in February 2022 and played IPL 2022. He earned his first Man of the Match Award with a cheque for one Lakh. he played against Rajasthan Royals and scored 42 runs in 23 balls. After that, he stepped into his record-breaking role in an IPL match against Gujrat Titans on 9th April 2023. Three Months Ban Imposed on Rinku Singh: He was banned for three months by BCCI with effect from 1st June 2019 for playing the Ramadan T20 tournament in Abu Dhabi, UAE without permission of BCCI. He played well for Deccan Gladiators and favored them by scoring 104 runs off 58 balls in the final against New Medical Centre. 

After that, BCCI released a statement and said “Mr. Singh did not seek permission from the BCCI before taking part in the T20 league hence directly violating the BCCI rules and regulations. As per the BCCI norms, a player registered with the Board cannot play in any tournaments abroad without the Board’s permission. Mr. Rinku Singh therefore has been suspended with immediate effect for three months starting June 1, 2019. He has been removed from the current India A squad set to play a multi-day game against Sri Lanka A starting May 31, 2019.”
